Lori-Ann Novello | Legislator Kevin McCaffrey’s Honoree | Branch of Service: Marines
Lori-Ann Novello officially joined the Lindenhurst Community Cares Coalition in January 2015 and now serves as its executive director. Her mission there is to empower youth in her community to build and create an environment in which they believe they can thrive.
Novello served six years in the Marine Corps, married her sweetheart, Sal, and earned her CASAC-t counseling credential from Suffolk Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Health & Human Services from Empire State College as a union member of Local 3. She also earned her Certificate in Project Management from New York University and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Marketing and Planning from Columbia. She is currently slated to earn her master’s in social work from Stony Brook University in May 2021.
A strong ethos of service born from her military experience, Novello also serves as a library trustee and strives to ensure that one of the foundational pillars of education is accessible to all members of her community. She also serves on the board of directors of Contractors for a Cause, a nonprofit developed by her husband that has fundraised and donated over $2 million to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She is a wife and mother of three, with three grandchildren. Her favorite pastime is spending time with family and friends, her most valued treasures.
