District 17 - Daniel Thompson - Gold

Daniel Thompson | Legislator Tom Donnelly's Honoree | Gold Award

Daniel saw the need to help others so he started with raising money for kids that suffer with autism spectrum to purchase an iPad (Raised $ 750.00). The child who received an iPad from Daniel’s donation is nonverbal and wasn’t able to speak until 4th grade.  This iPad gave him the opportunity to communicate with family and friends.

Physical fitness and setting goals became important so Daniel set a goal by riding over 500 miles over the course of the year. This also helped him build up endurance and stamina for his personal growth and physical fitness.

Daniel volunteered with Long Island Cares and assisted with the food distribution for many of those who were in need he amassed over 204 hours and finished his volunteer service with Baxter Pets.

Daniel also enjoyed the vistas and beauty of our county parks where he was able to see the different species and amenities that Suffolk County has to offer.
