Father Bohdan Hedz | Legislator Al Krupski's Honoree
Rev. Bohdan Hedz was born on April 28, 1981 in the Western Ukraine. Upon completion of High School in May of 1998, Fr. Hedz applied and was accepted into St. Basil Seminary in Stamford, CT. He completed his BA in Philosophy in 2002. He completed his Theology Degree in 2006 at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Ukraine. In 2010 Fr. Hedz was ordained to Priesthood by Most Rev. Paul Chomnycky, Bishop of Stamford. He served as an Assistant Pastor at St. John the Baptist Parish in Syracuse, NY and St. Josaphat Parish in Rochester, NY. Since 2014 he serving as a pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Riverhead, NY. He is married to Lina Hedz, and has two sons, Danylo age 12 and Peter age 4.
For his Ukrainian Humanitarian effort, Fr. Hedz was named 2022 Person of the Year by the Riverhead News Review.
