“Staff Sgt. Stephanie Rubi served as a U.S. Air Force Photojournalist from 2007 to 2015. Her responsibilities included documenting and reporting current events for internal and external audiences and media. Her duties also included providing forensic photography support to Security Forces and the Office of Special Investigations, arranging and conducting base tours, and other community engagement activities. Enlisting at 17, Sgt. Rubi would go on to serve for eight years and three months completing her apprentice, journeyman, and craftsman consolidation training, and graduating from USAF Airman Leadership School. Due to a head injury, she sustained while on duty, and after suffering from seizures, Sgt. Rubi was honorably retired in July 2015. She now works in Human Resources and resides in Rocky Point, NY. Sgt. Rubi and her family also work with local animal rescues to provide services and aides ill and/or elderly individuals in the community with yard maintenance and beautification projects.”
