Renee Joseph of Wyandanch is a former captain with the U.S. Marines who works as the intake coordinator for Manhattan-based Services for the UnderServed. In her job she assists veterans who are down on their luck and evaluates if the organization can help with services such as securing housing, qualifying for benefits and job hunting. During the worst days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Renee was on the front lines donating her time making sure her fellow veterans were safe, fed and well taken care of.
