A Message From Nick

I’d like to thank the residents of the Fourth District for entrusting me to represent them as their Legislator in Suffolk County. It is truly an honor to serve, and I’m humbled by your vote of confidence.

I am proud of my accomplishments this past year while serving the remaining term of our dear friend, the late Tom Muratore. In just one short year, I have been able to secure funding for sewer studies and installations, secured NYS funding to improve our roadways and infrastructure, move some polling sites in my district out of elementary schools to keep children safer, introduce legislation to ban the use of marijuana within our County Parks, save Suffolk County residents tax dollars by serving on the Capital Budget Committee, secure funding for our libraries for community activities, and so much more.

As I begin my first full term as Legislator, I plan to continue working hard and remain committed to all of my constituents throughout the Fourth Legislative District. As newly appointed Majority Leader, Chair of both the Veterans & Consumer Affairs and Public Works, Transportation & Energy committees, I will be able to accomplish even more for our community and improving the quality of life we all need and deserve.

As a lifelong resident of Selden, I am committed to the quality of life issues that make this community a great place for families to live, work and enjoy recreation. My focus will be to eliminate wasteful spending, support our law enforcement, first responders, and frontline healthcare workers, and protect our senior citizens, veterans and youth services. In addition, I want to continue enhancing our environmental protection initiatives including, but not limited to critical water quality measures and expanding the existing sewer studies in our districts’ downtown regions.

Prior to my election as Legislator, I worked 34 years at the Suffolk County Water Authority, and served as President of the Utility Workers’ Union of America, AFL-CIO Local-393 for 14 years. As the father of 5 children, I was involved in their education and personal growth by volunteering on the Middle Country School District Board, the PTA and the Selden Centereach/Three Village Little League for many years. Obviously, I have a vested interest in seeing this community thrive, and pledge to do my best as your Legislator to accomplish this goal.

I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working hard with all community partners and elected officials as we apply our combined knowledge and experience to serve the community we all love and call home. Thank you again for your support and trust.
