BRENTWOOD, NY – On Friday, April 5, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the 2019 STOP-DWI Top Cop Awards Ceremony at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood. Awards were presented to officers of law enforcement who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to keeping Suffolk County’s roadways safe from intoxicated drivers.
“I sincerely thank our officers for all that they do to ensure our roadways are protected from those who not only pose a danger to themselves, but to other drivers,” said Legislator Anker. “I commend them on their commitment and service to keeping us safe.”
The following officers were honored for their efforts in diminishing cases of DWIs: Deputy Sheriff Thomas Young (SC Sheriff’s Office), Officer Avital Donnenfeld (SCPD Precinct 1), Officer Darren S. Maresca (SCPD Precinct 2), Officer John C. Mercurio (SCPD Precinct 3), Officer Douglas A. Nassisi (SCPD Precinct 4), Officer Michael Posada (SCPD Precinct 5), Officer Derek J. Siddall (SCPD Precinct 6), Officer Brian P. Koch (SCPD Precinct 7), Officer Zacarias Alvarado (SCPD Highway Patrol), Officer Gregory Sandbichler (SCPD SAFE-T Unit), Officer Anthony Rando (Shelter Island PD), Officer Sean Sagistano (Northport PD), Officer Edward J.
