Legislator Kara Hahn this week recognized Terryville Fire Department Safety Officer Dennis Whittam for his service to residents of Suffolk County. The former Lieutenant and Captain of Terryville FD is the Suffolk County Fire Rescue Coordinator for Public Information and serves with the Vocational Educational and Extension Board that provides training for local volunteer firefighters through its Suffolk County Fire Academy.

When not serving Suffolk County, Dennis is covering fire department related events as editor of Fire News, a publication he has been with since 2000.
