HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. – On Tuesday, June 4th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker congratulated a Longwood Middle School 5th grade student, Fatimah Chaudhary, who won first place in the Suffolk County “Be Pool Smart” Poster Contest.
“I selected Fatimah’s poster to be in the running for this year’s “Be Pool Smart” poster contest out of the many that came through my office. I congratulate Fatimah on a job well done and thank her for helping us spread the word on pool and water safety,” said Legislator Anker.
Fatimah Chaudhary, a fifth grader, won first place in the county’s “Be Pool Smart” Poster Contest. Each year, the county hosts the “Be Pool Smart” poster contest to raise awareness about the importance of pool safety and to help prevent incidences of drowning. Students are asked to participate by creating a poster with relevant pool safety tips. The winning poster is displayed on the front cover of the Suffolk County Department of Health Services’ pool safety brochure.
Fatimah Chaudhary will have her winning poster featured on the 2020 Suffolk County Pool Safety and Drowning Prevention brochure of the County Executive, County Legislature, and County Health Department.
