(SAYVILLE – NEW YORK) Last week, Legislator Lindsay and his staff volunteered their time to conduct a beautification project at the Betty Whitehouse Playground. In 2016 Legislator Lindsay unanimously passed legislation to create the first handicapped accessible playground in Sayville. The team sanded and stained the beautiful benches that overlook the Betty Whitehouse Playground.
“Playgrounds and amenities bring one another together and build community,” said Legislator Bill Lindsay. “It is important to me to ensure the community is maintained, especially where our children come to play. This space allows everyone to have an interactive, safe and fun experience.”
Legislator Lindsay and his staff restored three benches at this local playground through this beautification project by sanding the benches and staining each to restore its natural luster. Additionally, they conducted a walkthrough of the playground to clean up any debris and took notes of any additional projects in need of maintenance.
“It’s refreshing to have a boss that leads by example,” said Kristi Reynolds, Chief of Staff to Legislator Lindsay. “He was looking forward to working as a team and improving the quality of the benches at the Betty Whitehouse Playground. The Legislator takes pride in everything he does; he truly cares about our community.”
