At the June 18, 2019 General Meeting, Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore, joined by colleagues Legislators William Lindsay III and Leslie Kennedy presented a Proclamation to the Sachem High School North Envirothon Team for their championship in the 2019 Suffolk County competition.
Envirothon is an annual, environmentally-themed academic competition for high school aged students organized by a program of the National Conservation Foundation. The competition is held on a regional, state, and bi-national level, which combines in-class and hands-on environmental education in a competitive setting.
“These students have proven their scientific and environmental skill, and are very deserving of their championship title,” stated Legislator Muratore. “I am grateful for the leaders and innovators of tomorrow who care about preserving the environment for generations to come. Congratulations!”
