BAITING HOLLOW, NY – On Saturday, July 6th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the North Shore Horse Rescue and Sanctuary Fourth of July Weekend Yard Sale Fundraiser. In addition to the sale, North Shore Horse Rescue was accepting donations of gently used supplies. All funds raised will benefit the recuse horses by purchasing hay, feed, and blankets.
“I would like to thank the North Shore Horse Rescue for the work they do to ensure that all animals are treated humanely and with the best care possible,” said Legislator Anker. “Through the hard work of its volunteers, the sanctuary provides a safe place for horses to be nurtured until they find a loving home.”
The sanctuary will be hosting an “Adopt a Senior Day” on July 20 for those who may be interested in adopting a senior horse and learning how to properly care for them. It will also be holding a “Hops for Horses” fundraiser at the North Fork Brewing Company on August 18 to raise money for the rescue.
