nearly 15 years, the Sunrise Association has offered free full-summer day camp
for children with cancer and their siblings, with the goal of bringing back the
joys of childhood to children who have had theirs taken away.
Laura Rosenberg S.T.E.A.M. Shack, named after a young cancer victim whose
family continues to fight against childhood cancer, allows campers to learn
valuable science, technology, engineering, art, and math skills in a fun
environment. The programs at the Shack will help campers who have missed
extended periods of school, especially those children with restricted mobility
and physical limitations, make up for lost time and prepare for their future careers.
Available programs include robotics, engineering, 3D printing, computer
programming, and digital music production.
