MANORVILLE, NY – On Sunday, September 15th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined the Peconic River Sportsman’s Club at its 5th Annual “Break ‘Em for Breast Cancer” fundraiser in Manorville. This year, the fundraiser raised over $33,000 for Lucia’s Angels, Coalition for Women’s Cancers, the North Fork Breast Health Coalition, and the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition, to aid with breast cancer awareness and research.
“I would like to thank the Peconic River Sportsman’s Club for hosting this event each year to help our loved ones and neighbors find resources and organizations to assist them in coping with this life-changing disease,” said Legislator Anker.
The Peconic River Sportsman’s Club is a sporting organization located on 400 acres of woodland, fields, trails, waterfront, and historic buildings in Manorville. The club’s mission is to maintain the environmental, ecological, and historical integrity of its lands, waters and facilities, and promote the safe use of firearms.
