The day after Thanksgiving, while many spend Black Friday hunting for the best shopping deals of the year, Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore attended the Conquer the Hills 5K Run and 2.6K Hike, which took place at the Farmingville Hills County Park on Horseblock Road.
The event, presented by the Farmingville Historical Society and co-sponsored by Muratore serves as an annual fundraiser to help support the preservation of important landmarks in the Farmingville community. All who completed the untimed race received a t-shirt, and the first three male and female racers to finish were awarded medals. Muratore provided water bottles for all participants.
“The Conquer the Hills 5K Run is a great community event, and I was happy to be a sponsor once again,” stated Legislator Muratore. “The Farmingville Historical Society is comprised of people who truly love the town they live in and wish to preserve its rich history. I want to thank President B.J. Intini, the entire Historical Society and all participants for another great event.”
