Deer Park Fall Festival Is a Rousing Success!

DPCAFallFestival

Geiger Park was transformed into an unofficial Main Street on Sunday, October 6 when hundreds of enthusiastic residents came out to celebrate a special day with their neighbors from near and far at the 3rd Deer Park Community Association (DPCA) Fall Festival.

Legislator Tom Donnelly (D-Huntington Station), who secured a Suffolk County grant for the annual event, joined other dignitaries including Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez who was honored as Grand Marshal. The admission-free festival featured vendors, live entertainment, food trucks, games, a petting zoo, pony rides and much more.

The mission of the non-profit DPCA is “to enhance the quality of life in Deer Park.” Under the direction of DPCA President Gina Lieneck, Vice President Rosemarie Todaro, Secretary John Cestaro, Treasurer Carol Quirk, Community Coordinator Paul Soodoo and Event Director Valerie St. Bernard, nearly a full year of planning goes into making sure the festival is a success.

“The Deer Park Fall Festival has quickly become a great family-friendly event and, as a proud life-long resident of this community, I look forward to it every year,” said Legislator Donnelly. “I was happy to be able to secure a County grant to help the DPCA offset some of the costs and thank their leaders and members - their hard work certainly showed. It was a wonderful day and I thank everyone for coming out to help celebrate Deer Park.”
