Huntington, NY - On Saturday, November 30th Legislator Spencer joined Town and State officials, along with the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, to promote Small Business Saturday in downtown Huntington Village.
The group visited several shops in the business district including: localLI bred- a great shop that provides seasonal subscription boxes showcasing talented Long Island artisans and makers; Bon Bons Chocolatier- which features an amazing selection of high quality chocolate and other unique gifts; and Main St. Board Game Café- a fun place to go to find great classic games like Monopoly and new popular selections like Wingspan.
Small Business Saturday is an annual event that seeks to encourage people to shop at small, local businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. “Money spent in our downtowns support our local economies and adds to our quality of life,” stated Legislator Spencer. “Research shows that when you shop small, the majority of the money you spend stays in your area. So please head to the nearest downtown for some holiday shopping. ‘Tis the season!”
