Suffolk Legislator Tom Donnelly recently attended the Town of Babylon Spangle Drive Senior Center’s 2019 Thanksgiving Celebration in North Babylon. Held on Friday, November 22, the highly-anticipated annual event is one of the regular holiday celebrations put on by the center and is always a festive and exciting day for Babylon senior citizens.
Currently under the direction of Carolyn Epifane. Spangle Drive was founded in 1972 as the first Senior Center in the Town of Babylon. It has evolved into a “One-Stop Shop” for recreation, socialization and information resources for Town of Babylon seniors. This year’s Thanksgiving event was attended by many senior citizen from though out the town who enjoyed an early traditional Thanksgiving feast along with games, raffles and the company of one another.
“I always appreciate the opportunity to visit the Spangle Drive Senior Center and spend time with our local seniors, particularly for Thanksgiving as they shared with me some of their favorite holiday memories,” said Legislator Donnelly. “I would like to thank Center Director Carolyn Epifane and her entire staff for the superb job they do in planning and executing a myriad of programs that keep our seniors engaged and active. We owe them our thanks every day!”
