Suffolk County Legislator Susan A. Berland paid tribute to Lieutenant John Fives’ 33 years of service to Suffolk County during his “final walkout” at the Police Department’s Second Precinct. Legislator Berland presented Lieutenant Fives a County proclamation and 16th Legislative District pin in recognition of his years of distinguished service to the community.
Lieutenant Fives joined the Suffolk County Police Department in April of 1987 after spending two years with the NYPD. Throughout his tenure, Lieutenant Fives served in the Second Precinct’s Patrol, Detectives, and Crime Section Units; the First Precinct’s N.E.T., the Fourth Squad Detectives and in Internal Affairs.
“It was an honor and privilege to recognize Lieutenant Fives for his laudable career in public service,” said Suffolk County Legislator Susan A. Berland. “John is an exemplary member of the Suffolk County Police Department and he will be sorely missed by both his colleagues and our community. I wish him, his wife and family all the very best during his well-earned retirement.”
