Hauppauge, NY, March 26th, 2019: On Tuesday, March 26th, Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey welcomed Village of Lindenhurst Deputy Mayor Maryann Weckerle to the Legislature as the Woman of Distinction of the 14th Legislative District.
This March, Legislator McCaffrey was proud to select Maryann Weckerle as the recipient of the Women of Distinction award for the 14th Legislative District. Legislator McCaffrey presented Maryann with a proclamation during the Legislature’s Women of Distinction Luncheon, at which selectees from all 18 Legislative Districts were honored. The celebration takes place each March in honor of Women’s Appreciation Month and recognizes women who demonstrate extraordinary dedication and service to their community.
Maryann is dedicated to serving the people of her hometown in the Village of Lindenhurst. She has been a resident of the Village her whole life, including serving most recently as a Village Trustee and Deputy Mayor. Maryann is the owner of a small business within the Village, and she has worked with the Lindenhurst School District and PTA, as well as currently holds positions within the Lindenhurst Historical Society, the Mayor’s Beautification Society, the Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce, and the Lindenhurst Rotary.

Legislator McCaffrey represents Suffolk County’s 14th Legislative District which encompasses the Village of Lindenhurst, Babylon Village, the hamlets of West Babylon and North Lindenhurst, portions of Copiague, North Babylon and Babylon’s barrier beach communities.
