Lindenhurst, NY, June 12th, 2020: On Friday, June 12th, Legislator McCaffrey took part in honoring Marine Corps veteran and community leader Lori Novello.
Earlier this year, the Suffolk County Legislature unanimously approved a resolution laid in the table by Susan A. Berland designating June 12th as Women Veteran’s Appreciation Day.
As such, each Legislator was to select a female veteran from their district to recognize at the June general meeting of the Legislature. Unfortunately those plans were altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however a virtual recognition ceremony was held on June 12th.
This year, Legislator McCaffrey chose to recognize U.S. Marine Corps veteran Lori-Ann Novello. Lori is a fixture of the Lindenhurst Community, and currently serves as the ever dedicated Executive Director of the Lindenhurst Community Cares Coalition. A proud mother and grandmother, Lori also serves as a trustee at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library and as a director of the charity formed by her and her husband, Contractors for a Cause.
Lori’s favorite pastime is spending time with family and friends, her most valued treasures. Lori dedicates immeasurable amounts of time to serving the people, especially the youth, of the Lindenhurst community, and we are forever thankful for her service to our community and our nation.
Legislator McCaffrey represents Suffolk County’s 14th Legislative District which encompasses the Village of Lindenhurst, Babylon Village, the hamlets of West Babylon and North Lindenhurst, portions of Copiague, North Babylon and Babylon’s barrier beach communities.
