[ARCHIVED] Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta Wants PSEGLI to Tell the Truth

(Smithtown, NY)… At a recent press conference, Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta (Fort Salonga, NY) stood amidst six downed utility poles across Meadow Road in Kings Park and expressed the frustration that constituents have been feeling in trying to get an accurate answer as to when their power would be restored. New York State Assemblyman Michael Fitzpatrick and Smithtown Councilman Tom Lohmann joined him.

“I recognize the severity of the recent tropical storm that impacted our area and the enormous damage left in its wake, and I applaud the utility workers who are working tirelessly to restore critical services. However, it is extremely irresponsible for the CEO of PSELI to say that power will be restored to all county customers by Saturday, August 9. I was at Meadow Road in Kings Park and as of 12:00PM on August 8, there were six utility poles down across the road and not a single PSEGLI employee in sight. Many of our residents are enduring great hardship because of the devastation left by Tropical Storm Isaias and the last thing they need now is to be strung along by their utility company. Don’t lie to the public! People deserve to know the truth,” said Legislator Rob Trotta. “As of Monday, some residents were still without power and not expected to get it back until the middle of the week,” added Trotta.
