MOUNT SINAI, NY – On Thursday, October 1st, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined Councilwoman Bonner, the President of the North Shore Neighbors Helping Hands Coalition Patti Kozlowski, and the President of the Heritage Trust Victoria Hazan at Heritage Park for the ceremonial lighting of the Pink Tree for Hope. For the month of October, a tree at Heritage Park will be illuminated with pink lights in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I, like so many others, have lost a loved one to breast cancer,
said Legislator Anker. The lighting of the Pink Tree for Hope is an important tradition in our community that helps bring awareness to the prevalence of breast cancer. I am so grateful for all of the important work that North Shore Neighbors Helping Hands Coalition does that helps breast cancer patients, survivors and their families in our local community, and for the Heritage Trust and Koch Tree Service for their support in making this tradition possible.
The North Shore Neighbors Helping Hands Coalition is a not-for-profit organization that works to raise funds to provide non-medical or uncovered support services for local community members in treatment for breast cancer.
