Kennedy & Piccirillo Celebrate Deborah & George Stondell

Wednesday evening, April 7, 2021, friends and supporters of Deborah and George Stondell gathered at the Irish Times in Holbrook. Deborah was selected by Suffolk County Legislator Anthony Piccirillo as the 8th Legislative District Woman of Distinction. Deborah has been involved in a variety of community organizations. She currently serves as the President of New York State AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, President of Holbrook AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary and President of AMVETS post 1174.

 

Legislator Piccirillo acknowledged all that Deborah does to benefit the community, and how she enhances the Hamlet of Holtsville, as well as all of Suffolk County. Legislator Leslie Kennedy 12 Legislative District (Nesconset) joined Legislator Piccirillo in recognizing Deborah, as well as her husband George, on his 70th Birthday.

 

George, a member of AMVETS Post 1174, served in the military for twenty-two years, Active and in the Reserves. George has been instrumental in Angel Bikes, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide specialty designed and built bicycles free of charge to military veterans who have incurred catastrophic body injuries or severe brain trauma. George & Deborah are both dedicated members of the American Legion Riders, the Long Island Motorcycle Club ABATE, The Patriot Guard Riders and Calverton National Cemetery’s Support Committee,

 

All in attendance had a great night and it was most enjoyable to finally be able to enjoy the company of friends and loyal community supporters.

 

Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy represents the 12th Legislative District, encompassing Smithtown, Nesconset, Hauppauge, the Village of the Branch, Lake Grove, parts of Commack, Ronkonkoma, Lake Ronkonkoma and Centereach. Legislator Kennedy was born and raised on Long Island, is a former nurse and small business manager, and has dedicated her life towards the betterment of our community. She currently serves on the following Committees: Environment, Parks, & Agriculture; Veterans & Consumer Affairs; Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services & Preparedness; Government Operations, Personnel, Information Technology & Diversity; Education & Labor; Public Safety; Ways & Means; and Health (Vice Chair).
