April 13, 2021 – April 11th was National Pet Day. While loving our pets is something we do every day, National Pet Day encourages us to pay special attention to pets who may not get that extra attention.
National Pet Day was founded in 2006 to celebrate pets and the joy they bring into our homes.
As a pet lover, Legislator Kennedy recognizes what our pets do for us on a daily basis and there are cats and dogs who need homes.
If you are interested in adopting a pet, please contact the following Animal Shelters & Adoption Centers in the Towns of Smithtown and Brookhaven:
Smithtown Animal Shelter at: (631) 360-7575 or on their website: www.townofsmithtownanimalshelter.com . They are located at 410 East Main Street in Smithtown and require approved adoption appointments, rather than walk-ins.
Brookhaven Animal Shelter at: (631) 451-6950 or on their website: www.brookhavenny.gov/152/Animal-Shelter . They are located at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven.
