Hauppauge, NY: On Friday, May 31st, 2021, Legislator McCaffrey joined a bipartisan contingent of Suffolk County lawmakers to call on Governor Andrew Cuomo, their State Legislative counterparts, and the federal government to take more action in repairing our crumbling roadways.
The press conference, led by Legislator Nick Caracappa, followed a letter written by the Suffolk County Legislature to the State requesting a response to the massive number of complaints regarding roadway conditions being received by Legislators. The state did respond with an outlined schedule of their intended actions and roadway repairs, however the multiyear plan they laid out is unacceptable.
Legislator McCaffrey took to the podium not only to demand a more efficient plan to repair the roadways, but also to encourage efforts to expand upon our aging infrastructure;
The people of New York State expect more and deserve more.
Legislator McCaffrey represents Suffolk County’s 14th Legislative District which encompasses the Village of Lindenhurst, Babylon Village, the hamlets of West Babylon and North Lindenhurst, portions of Copiague, North Babylon and Babylon’s barrier beach communities.
