Leg. Richberg Honors Student-Athlete Wilhelm James Daal II

Legislator Richberg presents a proclamation to North Amityville resident Wilhelm “Billy” James Daal

Wyandanch, NY – Suffolk County Legislator Jason Richberg presented a proclamation to student-athlete and North Amityville resident Wilhelm “Billy” James Daal II in recognition of his numerous athletic achievements at the general meeting of the legislature on Tuesday, July 27.

Wilhelm “Billy” James Daal II is a Class of 2021 graduate of Friends Academy, located in Locust Valley, where he received the award for Top Male Athlete, and served as a member of the Black Student Union and of the Admissions Club. Wilhelm was named “All Nassau County” in basketball, football, and track and field, as well as being named to Newsday’s “Top 100 List” for both football and basketball in recognition of his consistency, vision, and execution.

“Congratulations to our very own local superstar Wilhelm “Billy” Daal,” said Legislator Richberg. “Billy’s athletic achievements are amazing- top 100 in two sports, numerous All-County and All-Conference awards in basketball, football and track, and 12 Varsity letters! I look forward to seeing where his athletic journey takes him next.”

Wilhelm will attend the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut as a post-graduate student this coming school year where he will run track and play basketball. He has also been offered scholarships to play football after his post-graduate year by West Point, the Naval Academy, Georgetown, Yale and a host of other colleges and universities.
