CORAM, NY – On Saturday, August 26, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined the Davis Town Meeting House Society at their 5th Annual Yard Sale and Revolutionary War presentation. The event took place on the Great Lawn of the Davis Town Meeting House in Coram and included vendors, face painting, a reading by children’s author Cindy Somer, and a Revolutionary War reenactment performed by the NY 3rd Regiment.
“It was a beautiful day to be at the Davis Town Meeting House Society today at their annual yard sale” said Legislator Anker. “Landmarks like the Davis House are meaningful representations of our local culture and history here in Suffolk County and the members of the society do an amazing job protecting the beauty and integrity of the Davis House.”
The Davis Town Meeting House Society is the steward of the historic Davis House and the members are dedicated to preserving its history. All donations made to the society go directly to repairing and restoring the Davis House. For more information and membership applications, please visit http://www.davistownmeetinghouse.org/.
