August 2, 2021 – On Thursday July 29th Legislature Leslie Kennedy congratulates four individuals who have been awarded medals for their achievement, initiative and volunteer services. Legislator Kennedy had one Gold Medal recipient, Melody Luo, two Silver Medal recipients, Sanjivani Singh and Shriyans Singh, and one Bronze Medal recipient, Jasmine Luo.
These four individuals had four categories that they were able to participate in. The first is volunteering 200 hours to a not-for-profit organization that must provide for the betterment of the community. The second category they can pick is personal development. The individual must spend 100 hours assessing their skills and qualities while setting goals for improvement and leads to increase confidence to achieve positive and effective life choices. The third category is exploration which they may pick and visit fifteen Suffolk County Parks. The individual then is able to provide a brief reflection on the experiences while they explored the park. And the last category is physical fitness. The participant is challenged to increase their level of physical activity in order to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy represents the 12th Legislative District, encompassing Smithtown, Nesconset, Hauppauge, the Village of the Branch, Lake Grove, parts of Commack, Ronkonkoma, Lake Ronkonkoma and Centereach.
