Hauppauge, NY: On Monday, January 3rd, Stephanie Bontempi (Centerport) was officially sworn in to serve as Legislator for the 18th Legislative District. Legislator Bontempi is a former private school 5th grade teacher and former member of the Town of Huntington Beautification Advisory Council.
Legislator Bontempi is extremely excited to begin applying her knowledge and skillsets to protecting the environment, stimulating the economy, cutting excessive red tape and making improvements to public safety. The 18th District is located entirely within the Town of Huntington and is one of the most diverse areas in Suffolk County in terms of both demographics and local history.
“The residents of the 18th District are so lucky to be living in this absolute jewel of a community. As a legislator, I believe it is incumbent on me to closely listen to the residents and translate their priorities into action,” said Bontempi. “We are living in one of the most difficult times in history, and the last thing that residents need is a non-responsive government. Therefore, constant interaction with the community and restoring faith in government will be significant components of my plans.”

With membership on these committees, Legislator Bontempi is committed to water quality, fighting for the best education for our children, and maintaining the great quality of life that the residents of the 18th District expect.
