Throughout the month of February, Legislator Fleming joined her staff to distribute COVID-19 test kits to the east end community. From Eastport to Montauk, Leg. Fleming’s Office aided businesses and union workers in need of supplies. Thanks to Governor Kathy Hochul’s initiative to make testing kits widely available for municipalities, County Executive Steve Bellone was able to secure an allotment to be distributed per legislative district.
“Suffolk County’s small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy. To keep the pandemic under control and protect employees, their families, and customers, it was vitally important to provide these kits,” Legislator Fleming noted. Chambers of Commerce from Montauk to the Moriches, and from the North Ferry to the South Ferry, Legislator Fleming’s team was able to reach members of the community to ensure they had testing resources available.
Additionally, Leg. Fleming visited the Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing to distribute masks, test kits, and hand sanitizer to sisters or brothers in 1199 SEIU and 32BJ SEIU as well as teamed up with Legislator Sarah Anker (LD-6) delivered kits to the Stop & Shop in Rocky Point to help Local 338 workers.
