Today, Suffolk County Legislator Nick Caracappa visited fifth-grade students at Hiawatha Elementary School in Lake Ronkonkoma. Invited by fifth grade teacher Tara Sigillo, Caracappa was asked to discuss some of the legislation he has been working on, issues of importance in his district, as well as answer questions from the students.
“What an impressive number of inquiring minds I met today,” stated Legislator Caracappa. “School visits are one of my favorite community events, because this demographic holds our leaders of tomorrow. It’s so important to equip our youth at an early age; to hear them ask so many intelligent questions was encouraging. A special thanks goes to teacher Tara Sigillo for asking me to visit.”
