Legislator Bergin attended the Suffolk County American Legion Joint Visitation, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veteran’s organization. Focusing on the service to veterans, service members and communities, the Legion evolved from a group of war-weary veterans of World War I into one of the most influential nonprofit groups in the United States. Over the years, the Legion has influenced considerable social change in American, won hundreds of benefits for veterans and produced many important programs for children and youth.
As a part of the visitation, Legislator Bergin was able to present three Life Members of the American Legion with certificates of titles that they now hold within this wonderful organization. Thank you to the American Legion for this remarkable visitation and most importantly, you dedicated service to our great nation.
