Selden, NY – On Wednesday, July 12th Legislator Tom Muratore joined Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilman Kevin LaValle, VFW Commander John Rago and other community leaders for an unveiling of a Purple Heart parking space at the Santora/Bonacasa Memorial VFW Post 400, located in Farmingville.

“As a big supporter of veterans, I was happy to participate in this event. Allowing the designated parking space for Purple Heart recipients, or those wounded in combat is a very small way to thank those who have served,” stated Legislator Muratore. “I am grateful to Commander Rago and Post 400 for acknowledging our local heroes this way, and hope to see other veterans groups follow suit.”

Commander John Rago stated, “Suffolk County has the largest population of veterans in New York State. It’s important we give them the support they need; especially the wounded. Special thanks to Legislator Muratore for sponsoring the event, and Supervisor Romaine and Councilman LaValle for participating.”
