Brentwood, N.Y.-
Legislator Sam Gonzalez is proud to announce the overwhelming success of the Valentines for Vets project 2023. Building upon the achievements of the previous year, Legislator Gonzalez collaborated with Brentwood and Central Islip Schools to collect over 4,000 handmade Valentine's Day cards. These heartfelt expressions of gratitude were sent to active and retired veterans, reaching far beyond local borders, as the cards were sent to service members stationed across the globe, spreading love and appreciation for their selfless service to our country.
A remarkable aspect of this year's initiative was the opportunity for service members to visit participating schools, allowing them to witness firsthand the immense love and respect the children had for them. As the halls filled with cheering students, the service members were touched by the heartfelt reception, strengthening the bond between the community and those who have sacrificed for our country.
The Valentines for Vets program continues to exemplify Legislator Gonzalez's commitment to honoring and recognizing the service of our military personnel. By spreading love, gratitude, and respect, the initiative serves as a powerful reminder that our veterans are appreciated and cherished by the community they have selflessly served. Legislator Gonzalez extends infinite gratitude to all participating schools, staff, teachers, students, the United States Army, the United States Coast Guard, and all other participants who made this project possible.
