Wyandanch, NY - Suffolk County Legislature Minority Leader Jason Richberg recently welcomed a pair of college students, Cole Ohanian and Kaylei Fanfan, who are participating in the legislature’s 2023 Page Program and serving as interns this summer at his district office in Wyandanch.
The Suffolk County Legislature Page Program is a ten-week educational internship program that provides students with an in-depth experience of local government and the importance of being civically engaged. The program offers a unique way to encourage a positive understanding of local government and the day-to-day operations of the Legislature and other departments in Suffolk County government.
Cole Ohanian of Deer Park is a senior at Farmingdale State College studying Applied Economics. He previously received an associate degree in political science from Suffolk County Community College. Kaylei Fanfan grew up in Westbury and is a senior at Binghamton University where she is studying Philosophy, Politics & Law, and Latin American & Caribbean Area Studies.
Interns in the 15th legislative district office learn about the mission, roles and responsibilities of the Suffolk County Legislature and receive a behind-the-scenes look at how local government functions. Their duties include assisting constituents, legislative research and general governmental office activities.
