On June 21st during the General Meeting in Riverhead, Legislator Al Krupski presented proclamations and certificates to Southold Robotics Team R.I.C.E. 870.
After becoming the first Long Island Robotics Team to ever win both Regional Competitions Team R.I.C.E. 870 would move on to compete at the 2023 FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas. There, Team R.I.C.E. 870 would compete with over 620 teams from over 30 countries. Together with their alliance partners, Team 5460 from Lapeer, Michigan and Team 125 from Revere, Massachusetts, Team R.I.C.E. 870 would finish as World Championship Finalists, finishing 2nd place in the whole world.
