HAUPPAUGE, NY – On Tuesday, November 21st, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker presented John Turner with a proclamation at the General Legislative Meeting in Hauppauge. John currently works at the Town of Brookhaven in the Division of Land Management where he is involved in open space preservation efforts and the farmland protection program. Previously, he served as the Director of the Town’s Division of Environmental Protection

In addition to his work for the Town, John has served as the Director of Conservation Programs for the Long Island Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and he was the Legislative Director of the New York State Legislative Commission on Water Resource Needs of New York State and Long Island. John is currently a Conservation Policy Advocate for the Seatuck Environmental Association where he works on wildlife and water quality issues, and is co-founder of the Long Island Pine Barrens Society where he served on the board for 28 years.
