On Tuesday, August 1st, the start of Water Quality Awareness Month, Legislator Bergin spoke about the importance of the Lake Ronkonkoma Watershed Management Plan.
The press conference was held to announce the opening of the ‘Lake Keeper’ application process for Lake Ronkonkoma. The Lake Keeper position is a County Funded position, which is aimed to protect, maintain and care for Lake Ronkonkoma. The County is looking for someone who is passionate about the environment and conserving the water quality of the lake.
“We really do hope we can bring the back the water quality to Lake Ronkonkoma, so generations to come can enjoy the lake just as we did when we were kids,” stated Legislator Bergin.
