The Suffolk County’s “Be Pool Smart” poster contest was established in 2007. It’s a great opportunity for elementary school students to know how important pool safety is and this contest allowed elementary students to illustrate ways to promote pool safety.
Recently, Suffolk County Legislator Manuel Esteban Sr. had the pleasure to present Sachin Ramjit with a Suffolk County Proclamation as the District No. 16 winner of the “Be Pool Smart” poster contest. Sachin is a 2nd grader at Otsego Park Elementary School in Dix Hill and enjoys drawing pictures, coloring and is looking forward to Art class this fall as a 3rd grader. Legislator Esteban was proud of Sachin for taking the time to enter the contest and to promote his ideas regarding pool safety tips. In addition, Sachin Ramjit’s name was read into the record at the Suffolk County Legislature’s General Meeting on June 6th in Hauppauge.
