Central Islip, NY - Legislator Manuel Esteban Sr. showed his support attending the Suffolk County Treatment Court graduation on September 15th at the Central Jury Room located at the John P. Cohalan Jr. Court Complex in Central Islip.
Honorable Andrew A. Crecca, the District Administrative Judge of Suffolk County presided, and the keynote speaker was the Honorable Raymond A. Tierney, District Attorney for Suffolk County. NYS Assemblyman Keith P. Brown was also in attendance.
The program included17 individuals who completed the problem-solving court requirements and led to dismissal of all charges as a result of full completion and compliance of the program. The problem-solving courts truly help to change lives by addressing all the issues that contributed to breaking the law in the first place. Each graduate shared their story, and it was evident how far they each came, with many having made significant life changes. Legislator Esteban was very grateful to everyone who made this program possible and help people change their lives.
They jury room where the event was held was packed with many people standing and there was great enthusiasm and support of all the graduates. This was the first joint graduation since 2019 and to many, a very special occasion.
