Legislator Flotteron Recognizes BSHS Member on Turning 99 Years Old

Legislator Steven J. Flotteron along with family and friends gathered to recognize 

Helen Wind on the occasion of her 99th birthday at Bay Shore Historical Society’s Potluck Dinner.  She was born November 27, 1924 in Corona, Queens and moved to Bay Shore in 1942. In 1948, she married her husband Joseph, and together they raised three children. She is a grandmother of three, and great grandmother of six. In addition, she has been an active member of the Homemakers Club and West Islip Senior Center for more than 40 years where she enjoys quilting, sewing, and knitting. Helen was an avid recreational volleyball player from the early 1960's to the early 2000's when she was 75 years old.  Helen has supported Bay Shore Historical Society by being an ardent participant in its various events and has been a member since 2002.
