HAUPPAUGE, NY – At the General Legislature Meeting on Tuesday, December 19, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker honored the Miller Place Varsity Football Team for winning the Division IV Suffolk County Championship. Legislator Anker was joined by Miller Place Athletic Director Ron Petrie, Head Coach Greg Murphy, Assistant Coaches Nick Belvedere and Adam St. Nicholas, and Senior Captains Tyler Ammirato, Christian Kelleher, Matt McNulty, and Joe Panico. The team worked tirelessly throughout the season and won the championship game against Babylon with a score of 33-25.

“As one of the top football teams on Long Island, the Miller Place Panthers have proven that dedication and perseverance can lead to great success,” said Legislator Anker. “I would like to congratulate all of the players and coaches whose hard work makes them exemplary role models for their community and for teams across Suffolk County.”

The team brought great honor to their school and their community. This was the first time the Varsity Football Team won the championship title since 1988.
