Legislator Flotteron
joined physicians and members of Administration at Good Samaritan Hospital for
the opening of their Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Center. It is the only one of
its kind on the South Shore of Long Island with a dual trained surgeon in both neurosurgery
and neuro intervention. This is a minimally invasive way to treat certain types
of strokes with large blockages. Previously you had to have open surgery
through your skull and now with the use of a catheter, going all the way up
into the brain, these clots are able to be removed. This means shorter recovery
time, shorter Hospital stay and better outcomes.
