July 6, 2017 – This past Thursday, Legislator Leslie Kennedy (R-Nesconset) hosted a blood drive in conjunction with the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Commack. The blood drive took place from 3 p.m to 8 p.m. and received seventy-four pints of blood.
The annual blood drive continues to be a success. Food was donated by three local businesses: Chick Fil’ A and White Castle in Commack, as well as Mama Angelina’s in Hauppauge. The New York Blood Center is thankful for Legislator Kennedy’s efforts and Legislator Kennedy was happy to help.
“It is important to give blood whenever possible,” said Legislator Kennedy. “It truly is an amazing experience and you never know whose life you could change in the process, I also want to thank the generous business owners in the community for donating food for our blood donors.”
Legislator Kennedy’s next blood drive will be held on August 2nd at 725 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge, her district office.
