Hauppauge, NY – IKEA is pitching in to partner with Suffolk County in our effort to reduce the impact single use carry-out bags have on our environment. IKEA will be donating 5,000 reusable bags to be distributed throughout the entire county. The bags will be made available at all 18 County Legislator District Offices and at various locations such as health, senior and social service centers.

The bags, known as Frakta shopping bags, are 21.75 inches long. Their large size makes them a suitable option for shoppers to use at clothing retailers, home goods stores and other big box stores.

Who: Legislator William R. Spencer, M.D. Michael Baker, IKEA Long Island’s Store Manager

When: Monday, February 26th at 11: 00 AM

Where: Suffolk County Legislature, William J. Lindsay County Complex, William H. Rogers Building, 725 Veterans Memorial Highway, Smithtown, NY
