HUNTINGTON, NY – Suffolk County Legislator Susan A. Berland 16th LD (D-Huntington, Babylon and Islip) is collecting pet food and supplies for Long Island Cares - The Harry Chapin Food Bank for its “Baxter’s Pet Pantry” program. Since 2009, Long Island Cares has operated the pantry to provide food, pet care products and toys to families on Long Island, enabling beloved cats, dogs and other pets to stay with their families, even in times of need. “I have been proud to support “Baxter’s Pet Pantry” for many years and encourage residents to donate so that no one is forced to give up a beloved furry friend,” stated Legislator Berland. “Together we can help families in need take care of their pets.”
Items being collected include canned/dry cat and dog food, pet treats, food for fish, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils and ferrets, bird seed, kitty litter and pet toys. Donations can be dropped off at: 1842 East Jericho Turnpike, Huntington, NY, Monday-Friday, from 9 am-5 pm until March 30, 2018. For further information, please call (631) 854-5100.
