Amityville, NY – Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory joined the Copiague Fire Department this weekend at its 90th annual Installation Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
The event, held on Saturday, March 24 at the Huntington Hilton in Melville, celebrated outgoing officers finishing their tenures and welcomed new leadership. Presiding Officer Gregory assisted in the swearing-in of incoming officers and presented a proclamation to department member Charles Schauder to congratulate him on 50 years of service to the Copiague community.
“On behalf of the residents of Suffolk County, I would like to thank Charles Schauder for half a decade of service to the Copiague Fire Department,” said Presiding Officer Gregory. “The sacrifices made by the brave men and women who volunteer to put their lives on the line for our protection and safety on a daily basis are truly worthy of recognition.”
