Amityville, NY – Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory joined the Amityville Fire Department this weekend at its 113th annual Installation Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
The event, held on Saturday, April 7 at the Amityville Fire Department’s headquarters, celebrated outgoing officers finishing their tenures and welcomed new leadership. Presiding Officer Gregory assisted in the swearing-in of incoming officers and presented a proclamation to retiring Chief Jeffrey T. Erath to thank him for over 40 years of service to the Amityville community.
“On behalf of the residents of Suffolk County, I would like to thank Jeffrey Erath for nearly half a decade of service to the Amityville Fire Department,” said Presiding Officer Gregory. “The sacrifices made by the brave men and women who volunteer to put their lives on the line for our protection and safety on a daily basis are truly worthy of recognition.”
