Legislator Steven J.
Flotteron (R- 11th LD) co-sponsored another New York State Citizen
Preparedness Class, which was hosted at the Islip Terrace Fire Department. The
free community event had more than 75 residents in attendance. Special guests
included members of Troop 780, from East Islip, who understand the importance
of being prepared.
The training program
offered residents important life-saving tips and tools to protect themselves,
their families and their neighbors in the event of an emergency. All
participants received more than $100 of safety materials and knowledge of how
to handle themselves in a disaster situation.
“Many thanks to Sergeants
Alberto Cortez and Brian Toribio with the NYS National Guard and co-sponsors East
Islip Chamber of Commerce, Community Watch of Islip Terrace and Islip North
Community Watch for making the evening possible,” said Legislator Flotteron.
